In the midst of the september drizzle there was nothing I wanted more than some lovely hot tomato soup. But where to start… not the tinned variety (too much sugar and chemicals) … not the fridge packet variety (way too much salt) … then i saw the cans of chopped tomatos with ‘’stuff” in them… so here’s a quick cheap and easy way for some fast warming soup. Quantities given are more of guidelines since its a throw together what you have recipe.
INGREDIENTS
Olive oil
2 garlic cloves
1/2 onion
Dash of balsamic vinegar
1 can chopped tomatos with olives
1 tsp Rosemary
1/4 tsp Chilli powder
1/2 tsp Boulion vegetable stock
Handful of red lentils
METHOD
Fry the garlic and onion in olive oil in a saucepan till they begin to go golden. Add the chilli and a dash of balsamic vinegar and stir for a minute or so. Add the can of tomatos and the rosemary and stock. Bring it to the boil. Top it up with boiling water (about the same volume again) and add the lentils. Bubble gently for about 10 – 15 minutes.
Note – for a thicker soup add more lentils, thinner soup add less.
Enjoy with some fresh yummy bread

It is an interesting fact, that when you scan any Harry Potter book into Delicious Library, it will, as with any other book tell you the title and author…..and then after a pause a spooky voice says… Voldemort…. (spooky!)

When you leave the house before the sun rises and the ground is wet from the nights rain and the weather report says rain all week the outlook is not great. But when you look outside at lunchtime… What’s this blue sky and sunshine… Time for a walk in the park. And what’s this a garden centre. oh to be surrounded by roses and herbs with the sun beating down on you. Upon enteri g the shop I turn a corner and what’s this! Two pink watering cans smiling at me. One large and one small. Did they know I hhad been scouring the Internet for them but to no avail.
There is just something so cheery about a bright pink watering can… And it makes everyonne else smile and want to chat too – receptionists – bus drivers – train commutters
So if you want to bring a little happiness into the world, my advice: walk around a city carrying a large bright pink watering ccan and see what smiles and sunshine you can bring

Rescue roses

What a better way to re-start my blog than with flowers, and rescue roses are the best – drastically reduced just because they are begining to droop. Found these two bunches of roses on the way home and they really brighten up the house.
